It starts with oversized 5/16 inch stock[like the large bowies have]for extra bone slicing strength, not the typical 1/4 inch used for this model! Next is a very unique and complicated design with a very nice gradual taper, and with a beautiful arced temper line, just bearly visible.
The 6-1/2 inch long blade is forged with the usual elegant hand hammered high carbon steel, that is hollow ground, individually oil quenched, and differentially tempered using the old "Rudolph Henry Ruana" Zone Tempering, makeing the spine just slightly softer than the cutting edge! The nearly 3 inch top edge clip is factory sharpened, to a fine edge. This blade is intended for Battle!

The molten aluminum cast handle, poured directly on the tang method with the Montana ELK STAG dovetailed scales completes the process of this RUANA CUSTOM DESIGN BOWIE.
