  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Rubber grip shrunk, how do I fix it?

Don’t have anything useful to contribute sorry, but it’s great that you’re getting it fixed. Tools are meant to be of service.

Ok, hard plastic bits removed. Looks like a 1/3 tang. I am going to use a piece of 1x2 red oak for the scales as I already have it. Should I just drill a hole in the wood where the lanyard tube is and use that to hold the handle on?
Yes, I would remove the lanyard tube and drill a hole in the handle material there and in the round hole closer to the blade, and then pin the holes (possibly with a tube to replace the old lanyard tube) when gluing the handle parts on (with a slow hardening epoxy).

I am going to try my hand at a grip. I have no worries about it holding up as it will sit in my knife drawer like it has for the past 15 years! Will post pics of the nasty looking grip when I get it done!
Awesome!
