On entertainment tonight they said he may be working with a knife company to have a model of a knife named after him. Does anyone know who he may be doing this with?

You can tell a knife nut by their hairless arms....

I might be the only one, but I think that's pathetic and that show was the biggest piece of junk on TV this year.

Just my opinion........

I liked James Garners's take on the show:

He said" If I was on that island, I'd have killed them all in the first week and that would have been the end of the show!".

I had not heard this about Rudy before, but did notice that he had and was using a SOG Trident on the show. I thought the guy was a hoot, particularly on the show they had after the final episode.

A lot of SEALs stationed here in San Diego know Rudy well. When interviewed the guys that served under him said he is one supper tough cookie and a hell of a good guy.

If fellow SEALs say that it's probably quite true.

Never watched the show (and damn proud of it).

I'd rather buy a knife with Pat Crawford's name on it than Rudy the ex-Navy Seal.

P.S. I did see some girl named Kelly on an interview show. Kinda cute. Wish she would have said "yes" to PLAYBOY.

Time to RANT!!!!!
Just what the knife market needs, A cheap creampuff knife to commemerate a cheap ripoff creampuff show.
Talk about false advertising "SURVIVOR" with a yacht in the bay and a film crew 40 feet away. The only survival was the stupid contests and the popularity contest.
I'm amazed that a SEAL retired or not would have his name and reputation linked to such a peice of hollywood propaganda.
Anyone that survived watching more than two shows shoud get a medal.

While I never watched the show because I work nights, I can tell you that Rudy is for real. He has been mentioned and talked about many times in books by Rick Marcinko and Chief Watson(the designer of the Trident). Rudy was one of the first SEAL's and was the PT instructor that Marcinko and friends used to hide from. He also did 2 tours in Viet Nam. I have to think that if the show was really about surviving and not what it was, that he would have outlasted them all.

Just my .02

The guy's credentials notwithstanding, the show sounded stupid.

I think it is a bit of an oxymoron for someone to say they never watched a show because it was no good. If they never saw it, how did they know? I watched it because I was pulling for Rudy. He is like George Blanda was to football, able to keep up with people half his age and do it with some class. Now that I am on the + side of 40, I admire folks like that. He kept his mouth shut, his feces together and conducted himself with honor. I hope he does get a knife made in his name, and if it is a decent piece, I'll buy one.
BTW, I have seen Dexter watching the tuf-cloth drying on his knives. The guy is a party animal

You have a point, David.

I shouldn't mock the show if I have not seen it. That's like saying I hate apples, without having eaten one.

It's not a flex on people who have watched the show. It's my own neurotic sense of "non-conformity" (and the fact that I'm always on this board) which prevented me from watching it.

In conclusion, I'll just say from having watched clips and previews that I would have kept that cute Kelly on the island for company, and eaten snooty Kathy Bates-lookalike Susan for meat!

I watched the last night only, found it to be canned and politically correct. Rudy may be for real but the show was a joke.
Im sure the knife will be by Franklin Mint.

I never watched the show, so I really shouldn't rag on it. But if I wanted to watch a survivor show I would watch Gilligan's island. Now a collaboration with Gilligan might be cool

Just the fact that Survivor is the highest rated show of the year speaks volumes about our society....voyeuristic drivel at best.

"Politically correct?" When Rudy wasn't going on about "da queer" or proclaiming that he never wanted to see his young island-mates once they left, other cast members were making statements like "women are the stupidest thing on the planet next to cows." Canned, maybe. Politically correct, it wasn't.

And tomorrow when you wake up it will be worse.

Watched part of last show.Almost puked.

When who I assume was "da queer" wins, its politically correct, staged, canned and a typical media made joke

I have to admit I watched the last three or four episodes and did find the show hard to swallow but I live in Rudy's home town right now and as a squid I was forced to root for him so I watched. I also hoped to see a glimpse of a real knife or something. We all say we wouldn't do that show even for the money well to me that is a lot of knife money.
