Shwing! :D

have you looked at a henry .22lr (Henry U.S. Survival AR-7), it breaks down even smaller and it all fits in to the stock of the gun.

AR-7s though don't have much in the way of sights and overtime, if you're not careful, the threading in the receiver can become stripped. Plus, they're not the easiest thing to completely clean in the field. And if you want anything over an 8 round magazine they can be tricky to find. There are 20s and 30s out there but they're getting fewer and fewer and they won't fit in the buttstock.

The 10/22 breakdown is pretty cool, unfortunately Ruger is like every other gun company right now and they advertise products while they are so backordered they don't know when the hell they're even going to release this in large numbers. My guess is around August, but that could be optimistic.

I have looked at the Henry; and threw up in my mouth a little. :D In all seriousness, I was not the least bit impressed with the quality of manufacture and mixed reviews I've read.

The Marlin Papoose was better, but it has it's limitations as well. I've also heard that Marlin's quality has gone downhill in recent years. If the finish of my 1894CSS is any indicator, I'd be inclined to agree with that sentiment.

The K10/22-TD is heavier and may not break down as compactly, but, it's a much better rifle in just about every conceivable way. (provided the takedown mechanism works as advertised and there are no design flaws to be worked out)

The staggering amount of aftermarket parts, reliable high-capacity magazines, and nearly fifty years of dependable, consistent quality make it an easy choice for me: Ruger 10/22.

From the Gunblast article it appears they've taken the idea behind the Papoose and refined it to it's ultimate conclusion.

It's my understanding the Rugers are NOW available, not backordered until August.
I owned an AR7 and they are junk...
The only problem with the Ruger TD is the price.

Like available available or their SR1911 available?

I checked a couple of our distributors today and they didn't have one.

I wish they would keep the case and shave another 50.00 off the price.

I love my old 10/22, had it since i was 10, now my kids shoot it, its as reliable a Gun as it gets but needing something more compact for day packing, i picked up a Ruger 22/45 and i love it, still highlt accurate and reliable, as well it comes with scope mounts, just another option i thought to throw out there.

I really like my Browning .22 semi automatic rifle (I think that is the official name). It is a takedown. Very accurate. Light weight with a very small footprint. Sights aren't anything special, but it is tapped for scope rings. They are a little pricey tho and generally are not much cheaper on the used market.

My local shop got *200* of them in the beginning of the week and I picked one up on Monday. I'm very impresses with it so far and I'm hoping to have time to test it in the range this weekend.

Same here I got to look at one on Wed and it breaks down and re-assembles with ease. I think this will be a home run.

Did they make the little parts stainless this time or are they still blued ?

I like it, except for handguard that is just hanging off the barrel. My favorite take-down .22 is still the M6 Scout (.22/.410)

looks cool but just a gimmick to me personally...never had much need for a rifle that compact, if i need something real small I pack a pistol.

Be a nice piece to have though, I'm getting a new 10/22 in a weeks time.

I have 2 10/22's and an AR7. The AR7 Original model AR20 components are junk. They are so cheap you have to be very careful cleaning them or you end up breaking the pieces. The 10/22 is far more robust and smooth operating. I need to get one of these takedowns ASAP.

Also have an AT22 feather industries pre ban. By far the nicest takedown 22 I have seen. Nice sights, barrel shroud, telescoping/reversible stock, really sweet....

I wish they could sell just the components to convert one, I have a 10/22 stainless, give me the stock and a case awesome.
