Hello all,
So today I found my old Esse Izula in a drawer and it had some rust and discoloration on it. I went to my dad’s house for dinner and decided to run the knife on his wire wheel buffer. Big mistake.
Like most times where I use only half my buttocks, I messed things up. I tried to do a rush job and didn’t get some water to dunk it in. Long story short (too late), I held it on one spot too long.
It was hot enough where I had to pull my finger away from it and it looked to have gotten blue in one spot. This was about a half inch away from the tip and about halfway from the spine to the edge.
I don’t think I ever got the edge too hot because I was trying to stay away from the area. So, did I ruin the knife?
Thanks for any help you can give.
