Rumors about G10

I have heard recently that some people can develop an allergic reaction to G10, and also that it can become brittle with age. I mean anything and everything goes down hill with age, but if it was like a five or even ten year life that would not be very appealing.

Can anyone back these rumors up or stomp them out.

G10 is a fibreglas product so skin irritations from contact with glass fibres as they are ground off are understandable.

Similar reactions to the binding resin are less common but can occur.

The real danger is inhaling the loose glass fibres, adequate respirators are a must.

The resin can break down over time if left out in full sunlight but will probably not break down in your lifetime indoors.
