I know, yas didn't miss me. But I have been admitted to the local hospital by my doctor earlier this week. COPD. Lung disease. And a tick born eat-chur-laig-type thingy. Mom told me that growing old wasn'nt for sissies.

You're going to stick me how many times to get in one IV? And no, I'll pass on the catheter for now. Just bring me an empty pop bottle or open a window. Fever down? good. Calcified lungs? M'kay. I'll deal with it. Bring me a Marlboro. I'm four days out of a 42 year pack-a-day habit. "Patches? We don't need no steenkin' patches!" Beginning to wonder if I can secret-squirrel my way out of here to the parking lot for a smoke though. I know where my clothes are stashed and I'm not scared to use them!

Friends, if you smoke and there is any way possible way to quit or reduce now, please do so. It is a horrible feeling to drown inside your own body. Combined with silicosis and asbestosis, what a way to partay! :(

In other news, I invoked ADA to get the first patient internet connection in this small regional hospital. SO ... I'll be checking in from time to time. :)

No quarter! Kicking and screaming all the way! Keep at it!

Gives you a good excuse to walk around with the back of your gown untied!! hope you get better!!

Sounds like you've got the right attitude. Don't let your circumstances get you down and do what you have to do to get better and stay better. A little prayer never hurts.

Codge, some prayers are headed your way. No smoke for you. Just listen to the Docs and take care of yourself. Eat as healthy as you can. Keep us posted.

Eating? Great! another subject for a disjointed drug enhanced rant!:D DOC HAS ME ON A LOW CHOLESTEROL DIET! WTFBBQ? (sorry, drug induced caplock scream syndrome :o) Daughter/co-conspiritor is assigned secret missions including Sonic, Little Debbie snacks, etc.

Thanks friends. Not a lot left but to keep faith, pray, trust and keep a good attitude. I'm working on sneaking Jake my hearing service dog in tonight. That might be pushing my luck though. Still in training at 10-11 months old, he isn't considered an ADA essential here, but I miss his funny turkey azz. He is a 65# Llewelyn Setter and too smart for his own good. :p Like his Master/Handler. :o

Hang in there Codger. Wtf is up with the prescribed diet? A few years ago, I was running the secret missions for my Dad. Enjoy the hell out of all the plunder.

Jeez! Sorry to hear about this. Hang in there (and get out of there) as soon as you can.

Good luck and take it one breath at a time.

All I can do under the circumstances. Oxygen sure is sweet when it is plentiful. Wish I had me a badboy cylinder at home. And one of helium.Maybe nitrous. Nah. A cig though.. mmmmm...

Dunno on the diet. Cause they can? My cholesterol is good, sugar good, BP near perfect. Nicotine level is dangerously low though.
Get well brother.

May your nurses be hot and loose

Yah well, small town and I know most of the husbands and I don't roll that way. The younger ones are my daughter's age.

Working on an escape plan as I type. Jake don't drive yet though. ANd he isn't big enough to ride two miles home. Don't haqve my lighter. Frictionfire time. McGuyver the med supply cart in the hall.

Get well....Do we need to bake you a cake with a file in it?
