Running in the Sweet Winter

Running? At my age a short stumble is about all I can manage. I used to love to run, just can't anymore. It doesn't stop me from going down to the beach and watching the girls go running by. Has nothing to do with cold weather, though, so maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it. Nevermind.
 
Here in Iowa right now it's tough to run outside for me. The high all week is going to be about 15F, more often around 10 or lower. I also am mostly forced to run at night, when it's colder due to my schedule. Lots of treadmill here, which I hate, but I just play some music through my headphones and deal with it.

I run in Cross Country spikes, so I just put in some long spikes when I'm going somewhere icy or snowy, no problems yet.

In a week I'm headed down to New Orleans for 6 weeks though, and I'm really looking forward to running in the 30-60 degree weather they will be having while I'm there. Shorts, here I come!
 
25+ and I'm all for running in the winter. I sport my winter Lycra and have at it.


This single digit stuff with -10 degree wind chill.......yeah, that is too much for me.
 
17 Degrees here dont even know what the wind chill is rode my bike mountian bike 10 miles to work today cold ! Cant even imagin running it riding is bad enough . Gonna have to start thinking abought moveing south soon .
