Running out of Kershaws to buy

Kershaw got me started last summer on buying good knives, my first was a Damascus Leek and I haven't looked back from there. Since then, I've bought a G10 Leek, Composite Leek, Storm, Skyline, RAM, Zing, and Talon II. At this point I'm struggling to find new Kershaw's to buy that are 3" or just close to there. Unfortunately this pretty much rules out the entire ZT line, and most of the new offerings for 2012 (Echelon, Knockout, etc).

Are there any models I missed besides the OD-1 and Needs Work that might still be available? Since I got into knives so recently, my knowledge of Kershaw's back catalog is fairly limited. I have my eyes set on trying to pick up a JYD I, the smaller model with the airforce graphics in 13C26N. Is anyone else starting to have this problem too?

You can try to get your hands on some of the older knives, like the 1460 and 1480.

Woah, never even heard of either of those. Thanks for the suggestion! I would love to get my hands on that 1480 but it seems particularly rare.

are you trying to collect all kershaw knifes?? if so I know a guy that has 40plus years old kershaw knifes that he wants them to sell at a local gun and knife show. I wont put his name on these boards because that is not fair to spark. now I belive he only has 2 of them left.

Well, they can't be 40+ years old, because Kershaw started in 74' which is only 38 years ago. But totally worth looking into.

Yes, they can be hard to find, but they are beautiful knives. Another one from that family is the 1450. Personally, I'm a big fan of the older knives that are hard to find (the 2110, 2120 etc are nice too, but not as nice).

The echelon has a 3.25" blade (same as the skyline.)

The skyline and RAM are 3 and 1/8" actually, but I'm having this internal struggle as to whether the additional 1/8" inch for the Echelon or ZT 0350 will really matter. I mean, the Skyline, Ram, and Storm are already technically illegal, so what's the difference? But once I've opened that door, I may as well get knives I really like, such as the 0560.

Oh the dilemmas of trying to be an upstanding citizen :D

My thoughts on it are you cannot see blade length when it's in your pocket. If you really have that much contact with police officers that it'd be a problem, then you probably have larger problems to worry about than knife blade lengths.

Very true, and I really have none whatsoever (I'm a pretty nondescript college kid) so I'm not sure why I worry so much. One bad experience involving trespassing and a knife that was illegal back in high school, and I've worried about this ever since. Maybe the Echelon will be my first attempt at combating this inane fear?

The blue one is the 1450 Sapphire with all titanium scales.

The man is ready and willing to jump into your worst nightmare here if you are going to do something dumb. Don't push the merciful Lord, lady luck, allah, mother Mary, or whoever you pray or wish to. It is not worth it. Obay the law and leave breaking it to the real criminals. Fear of being prosecuted for breaking the law should be a great inspiration to vote. And to keep everything spick and span.

I got told this. If it is wrong then I was misled by the people that I bought them from. these are pocket knifes that you can carry them when wearing a suite. This week end he is doing a gun and knife show and I will see if I can pull them out for you.
