Russ Andrews Shop Fire - An Opportunity to Help

Aaaaand the Branson hunter goes to Doug! Congrats my good man and my sincere thanks to all who bid.

Doug, please make payment directly to Russ - send no funds to me. Do PM me your shipping info, though. I am just about to depart on a business trip, returning late Friday so I can get it on the way to you on Saturday morning.

Thanks again!

Will do.
I can't believe it.
PM sent.

Thank you for donating Stuart's gorgeous hunter, Roger, AND for the thread itself. :)
My first Branson, my first Koa () and my first Fowler-esque !

All the very best picking up the pieces, Russ.

An update from Russ. Things are progressing with the new machine shed, which will house grinder, drill press, HT and testing. The building's insulation is completed, and wall covering should be complete in a few days.....then wiring. The cinder block building is being readied to house the forge, press...etc. Hopefully all will be done some time in April.

Thanks again to all who helped.

Not exactly portable...though it could have been.........
We considered the time frame we had to work with, and whether to put up
a temporary shop, and move south....taking the shop with us. In the end, though
we chose to stay here for the forseeable future....
The new machine shed is anchored to a 6"thk steel re-enforced concrete pad which should hold
up OK to some hand forging as well as resist damage from forging scale, and oil spills etc.....

The same building, with a wood floor, and skids would probably have been movable....this one isn't...
it's guaranteed to hold against 140 MPH winds..!...(I'm willing to not test that..! )

Anyhow...It's small....tight....and plans are that the new process/shop will be quite efficient......

New machine shed and reworked/seperate forge area are up/functional.
I spent the day forge welding for a couple of orders...should have something to show
soon......
I would not have guessed how much there would be to do....or how long it would
take..
