Stand up if you love the crisp, clean look of an exquisitely finished carbon steel blade. :D
Respect for Russ Andrews, who clearly has confidence in his steel finishing skills. That's a good thing, since the least little flaw will stick out like a sore thumb on a blade like this.

Russ' take on the traditional Bowie fighter begins with his refined design. All the lines, curves and shapes work together to create "flow." Simple, elegant and appealing. The 10 inch blade was forged from W2 steel and all the fittings are 416 stainless steel.

Likewise, the guard, handle and pommel are nicely integrated - wonderful to hold - and behold. What a terrific piece of ancient walrus ivory - big, lots of color - and it's 'soft' look compliments the bold lines of the steel around it.

Last, but not least, the sheath is well matched to the knife, doncha think? Elegantly simple lines again and hand-sewn by Russ. The kicker is that beautiful python insert. The scales have a subtle iridescence about them - a great choice with which to complete this most excellent package.

I heard from Russ that the client was quite pleased to receive it. No surprise there. Who wouldn't be? ;)

This is me standing up tall!

Beautiful knife. Russ' ability to nail a perfect finish on his carbon steel blades is widely known, but it's still something to hold such a knife in hand and admire it in person. Great job on the photo, Buddy.

Thanks for posting.... I second, third, or fourth, the emotion! A sumptuous knife.....

Although I love my damascus (a lot) there is something special about a well finished monosteel blade. From what I've seen Russ is one of the best at this and this knife is an excellent example of his craft. Excellent job!!

Thats gorgeous. I have owned one of his finely finished carbon steel blades and the rumors are true..

No offense meant; but I love the lack of Damascus or a Hamon. There is nothing to take the eye away from the fantastic fit and finish.

Russ is King of Clean, no doubt about it. Beautiful lines and flow too. Fantastic job.
