Russ Andrews Trad Fighter (no damascus content)

My jaw dropped, when I first saw Russ's work many years ago and nothing has changed. I'm still amazed, after all these years, that somebody can make something so precise and finely finished. Having had the opportunity, many times, to see him work on knives, I'll just say one thing. Nobody spends more time on a knife than Russ does.

That's gorgeous, the handle is outta this world, I'd think you'd have to do everything just right on a knife like this to get the balance, so the blade/handle don't outweigh each other. This has superb balance.

I figured Buddy would do this up proper, but he did still better...!

Thanks Buddy...!

Thanks too for the good comments. They're much appreciated.

This pattern has not only become a defining one, but developed some

personal significance, as the first one went to another bladesmith, and

this one to a cancer survivor.

Have not been posting much lately but came back to this one quite a few times.

Everything has been said....all I can say is that if it was a stag handle I would trade a couple fingers for this one.

That stated, this is a truly awesome knife, in the running for BF Best Bowie 2012 to be sure and something that the owner should cherish.

From a photography standpoint I want to make viewers aware of something....

This image was shot with the handle prominent and the blade pointing away. I regularly hear from makers that this "Makes the blade look too short." As we all know, it's simple perspective. No one complains, though, when the handle is in the rear and the blade is pointing to the viewer, which makes the blade look too long. ;)

In the end, the knife ought to look fantastic in either orientation. This one sure does.

Props to Buddy for allowing this perspective.

Russ' sheath completes a colossal package.

Congratulations to the new owner. Awesome work, Russ. Great image Buddy.
