Does anybody know if Russian Blades website is a legitimate business? They won't respond to email, they don't pick up the phone, the recording says "live a message " then another nice female voice says that the box is full. Has been like that for several days now. Thanks

Welcome.
Ill chance it and say, that its not a forum supporting vendor.
I can be frowned upon to discuss non-supporting vendors.
That being said its always good to do some research prior to buying - especially from foreign countries, if thats the case.
Dont know the business but good luck.

I'll go out on a limb here and say that if they're that difficult to get a hold of, then you shouldn't do anything that would give them money. Even if they're legitimate, what if there's a problem with your order? The trend shows you either cannot get a hold of them, or that they are entirely unconcerned about getting business from you. No matter the cause, the inability to establish any form of contact with a business is so incredibly suspicious that it leads me to believe they have either shut down or are actively avoiding inquiries from angry customers.

Not the most famous Russian store. But there is another problem. This is delivery from Russia to America. It's almost impossible. Therefore, Shirogorov and Kizlyar opened their offices in America. A friend of mine from Canada sent me Opinel #8. It was a model for the North American market. In Russia, he never got.

I do not believe that is the case. GBU is all about discussing your experiences with vendors, supporting or not, positive or negative.

It is frowned upon (and against the site rules) to promote deals from a non supporting vendor or to link to their sales site.

Sure, he didnt link so most likely in the clear.
There does tend to be some hoop jumping going on at times though - 'eflay,' the big river' and so on and so forth.

I'm not familiar with the company or if they are legitimate. Based on what you posted, those are what we call "Red Flags"

I purchased two eBay knives from the same dealer (ED Not "Russian Blades" - just a dealer in Russia - sorry). Took over a week to get to Moscow and three days thereafter to my mailbox in OH, so not "impossible." But the dealer had strong feedback and answered email the same day - in English. I pay eBay with credit card so I have two layers of protection - PP and CitiBank. (The knives were great.)

Isn't Doug Marcaida working with Russian Blades to design a new knife (the "Kortada")? I've seen him post about it on his instagram.

In any case, after I got burned on my last deal, I'm no longer going to be doing business with companies who have bad communication.
