Russian Damascus Knives

That looks like a much improved sheath design. BTW, the steel looks nice as well on the photos.

Well... what else is there else to complain? RosArms:)
At this point you are a flagship of russian knives in NA.
If you went as far as contracting russian blacksmiths vs. buying ready made
Damascus from Pakistan/India - why not come up with different looking handles and make a class of knives between bare users and shelf knives?
By the way, I suppose names of those blacksmiths are on NTK basis?

There is nothing wrong with handle design. It just seems foreign to you. You know why? Because they are Russian knives. As for the source of the Damascus. Would you please send a letter to Bear & Sons Cutlery and ask them why they use Arkansas Damascus? Thanks.

I have a one of each type of damscus knife coming. A Stainless rescuer ,a hybrid cheiftan and a traditional Russian 3. I am pretty stoked.

Well update ,I could not get the Cheiftan because they were out of stock but the Stainless damscus Rescuer and the Russian 3 both came and I am very impressed with both.
The Russian 3 is like a custom knife other than a tiny gap where the blade goes into the micarta from the top. The wicked curved shape looks great with the damscus.
The sheath was bad though ,like it had gotten way to hot on the belt when shaping but Rosarms has excellent service and I am sure I will have a new sheath on the way soon.

My definite fave is the stainless damscus Rescuer. It is much harder to see the damscus
pattern in the stainless which I kind of like as it seems more like a real pattern welded blade. There are a few imperfections in the steel because stainless is almost impossible to make work as damscus but i think it adds to the character. The sheath on the Rescuer is fantastic and up there with the Pin's as one of the best production sheaths I have seen.

I like the "Baby"! Is that available in damascus? When are the machetes coming? Any plans for wootz?
PS. I like the handles :)

Got some bad photos.

Here are the bayonet ,Russian 3 in traditional damscus which looks great by the way like a custom knife as well as a fox2 and a Rescuer in the stainless damscus which is not as distinct as traditional and harder to see the pattern. It is actually much closer to wootz. There are a few flaws in the stainless damscus because(I think)
stainless is very hard to forge. On one side there is a couple of what looks like molten metal
boogers and on the other side there is a bit of film. I don't mind the flaws at all and rather like the understated subtle pattern but if things like that bother you I would stick with the traditional or the hybrid.

I took about 35 photos and those are the best ,doh.

Super cool! Ah man, you got one of those bayonet ones too! I'm jealous. What is the spear-point one in the middle?

That is a Fox2 and it is another fantastic knife. I had a hard time deciding between leather and Birch bark for the Fox2 handle but went with the leather because it is heavier so it would make the knife handle better. If I was getting a Fox1 or a Cliff I would definitely go for the birch bark. It is awesome and has a real neat texture that is not slippery at all.

The bayonet is probably my favourite Rosarms knife. Even though the Fox2 looks the
same size the Fox is a half inch shorter blade and a lighter faster feel. The SN Bayonet
is more of a all purpose bowie that would also make a great fighter where the fox2 feels more like a fighter that would make a good general purpose knife. The Fox2 also carries a whole 1 1/2 inches shorter which makes quite a bit of difference for belt carry.

I don't like belt carry very much and the Fox2 is about as big as I would go. For things like bowies I prefer a shoulder strap or just attach it to my pack.

Unsub,
I did not know that you have the fox2. That is another of the Ros' that are high on my to-get list.

I really like the damascus rescuer. The omision of the sawteeth gives it a different look.

From your pictures, I think the Fox2 is going to be tied with the Cliff as my next two Ros'.
Now.... which handle?

Wait.... Unsub's fox2 is different from what is called a fox2 in the sticky of Rosknives pictures.
Why is this? I don't want to order the wrong knife when I order....
