Russian Knives… What Now?

I never bought a Russian knife because the ones that I was even marginally interested in were too expensive.

So, whether they're still available or not as a result of "current events" is irrelevant to me.

Besides, there are SO MANY other knives anyone can buy, why even worry about buying something made in "Russia" or not? 🤔"

Here is my question: all business in China is owned by Chinese gov, allowed to operate, right? How true is that in Russia? Sure, they have to kick up tax. Russia, as a nation, as a force, not the average person of course, is an evil force in the world. So is China. Chinese citizens are largely brainwashed to be racist and hateful, according to Chinese who have broken out of it and want to hold their brothers accountable.

If you know me here, you know my "free countries" sentiment. "I buy American, Japanese, Taiwanese, Swedish, French, German and have a fine time doing it". I was looking at Kizer today, ugh, want them so badly. Can't have 'em though. Make them in Taiwan, I will buy all the Kizer.

I don't know. PocketKnifeJimmy PocketKnifeJimmy was posting and posting some very dope Russian knives, for example. Same with China, I like the knives, but struggle to purchase even a Rough Ryder. I need some more justification before knowing the answer to this, if I should buy Russian. Oponions welcome.

Given my experiences in the 80's with more than one Russian, I have since then chosen never to buy anything Russian. We all have our reasons. This "new" war, for me, is simply additive to that. Please do note, however, that my views here do not apply to the most recent 2-3 generations of Russians.

But still, no way would I ever buy Russian....................

My family in Romania, they used to fear the Germans. They came through the villages. They came to the houses and politely but firmly demanded food and lodging. The Russians came through, too. Except they didn't ask for anything because my whole family was OUT because they didn't wanna give everything up, THEN get raped, THEN get killed. I am never talking about the average Jovich or Zhou whenever I speak of China or Russia, but these countries are corrupting influences on the minds of their citizens, evil forces that work on them and turn hearts cold. Some people are smart enough to not fall for military, government, whatever propaganda. Lots are. But a ton are not.

I get the "National Pride" argument, and I agree with it.
Having said that: I've got a couple of WE knives, a Taiwanese Rat 2, three fixed blade knives made by a cool Canadian dude, 2 Chinese Schrades (Uncle Ho?), and a Lionsteel from Italy.
That's it for my Foreign Affairs. They were bought for the attributes that they possessed: not the geographical location of the Company...
I also wouldn't equate Taiwan with China. Taiwan is a democracy. The only Chinese speaking Democracy if I am thinking right.
