Does anyone have any ideas about this knife?

I been thinking about it and I just cannot figure out what this is. It has some markings on it, but they don't make any sense.

Nice one, if it had 4" blade and liner lock I would buy it!

Name on the blade says "Picnic" my guess it's knife model name no manufactures mark or name as far as I can see,
Steel 65x13 is Russian made just Google it to find out what it's made of,
serial # FB808 however letter "F" is English not Russian alphabet.

All Russian commercial factory made knives come with serial number and official gov't certificates of issue.

My guess it's meant for use on outdoor forest picnics to make shish kabobs/BBQ's and cut down wild forest mushrooms,
two very popular thing to do in Russia!

Sorry, can't help you any further with it!

That's a hell of a lot of information, thanks for that. Are you Russian? How are you so familiar with the culture?

Russian steel 65x13 is similar to AUS6. 0.65 % of carbon and 13 percents of chromium. But this knife is not russian. It is noname chinese made knife...there are plenty of these at aliexpress website

Thanks y'all, I just looked through these at alie and just by the fact that some say 440c and some just 440 I'm gonna pass. I don't like questionable steel. And if what Pizis said is right, I would pass for sure, I hated the knives I had with low end steel, Aus 8 wasn't terrible, not as bad as those ?cr?mov steel knives I had, but I bet Aus6 is pretty low on the totem pole.

I was going to say that it has the look of a Chinese knife rather than Russian. Looks like that was right!

Ask to have the thread moved to Bernard Levine's subforum. Linking to e-bay auctions to get information about a knife you want to buy has been allowed in the past in that subforum.
