I am planning on another round soon (I'll let this one go for 10 days or so).

Here are the candidates so far:

If you dont mind add Birchwood Casey "Baracade" to the test. It has always outperformed about everything I've tested it agaist. I have conducted similar test to the one you did except I used G96 gunprotector, Baracade, and Breakfree. The Baracade won.,,,thanks,,,VWB.

Thanks Michael! :D

Great testing.

If the opportunity arises throw in some mineral oil, bout' $3 at a Walfart or Target, in the pharmacy dept under laxatives. :o

This product gets recommending for so many things here on the forum it would be interesting to see how it does.

I appreciate the great thread.

Probably a better idea to just keep the knives out of the rain.

Uh, yes.
But...

Personally, I live on a area that has extreme temperature and humidity changes in a year.
Easily, up to a 120 F change in temp with accompanying humidity.

So what he is trying to do here is compress those varying swings in a relatively short time frame with a modicum of scientific parameters.

In other words have you ever gone camping or backpacking where it rains for days on end?
Tents, clothes, wood, sleeping bags, and tools. :D
...things gets wet/damp (if you are using them) for an extended period.

This is very useful work.

Great Test...
maybe when you are done... you could see how they clean up with a few wipes to see how deep the rust really is...
Im glad that I use Rem-oil

I would like to see Tuf-Glide included in a test & as a bonus their Marine Tuf-Glide or Tuf-Cloth. If Tuf-Glide is the same as another product represented here I would like to know. Anyone have experience with this product?
Thanks

I cleaned all of the squared off with WD-40 and paper towel to see how deep the rust went. The RemOil was very shallow with the rust getting deeper from right to left. All of the squares could easily be cleaned with light sanding and a little TLC. The bare metal and Dry lube showed a little pitting (there was little difference if any between the two).
