Rust Never Sleep

( I personally think that a dented surface will hold the anti-rust liquid better than mirror finish surface and therefore as long as rust is concerned i prefer dented surface......... Sorry KRAZ for different opinion. )

No worries Dick. They're your knives and they are beautiful.

What I was trying to understand is the science behind what you're doing. Unfortunately I still don't understand it. When you bead blast you create little hills and valleys in the metal. That's why it appears darker, less direct reflection of the light. While I would believe the valleys might hold more oil/PTFE/whatever, the hills certainly would not. So I guess I'm not buying what you're selling :D

Very, very nice craftsmanship :thumbup: Use them in good health friend!

Sawasdee KRAZ;

Thanks for sharing your good idea.:)

I think your sentence " the hills certainly would not (hold the oil ) " is may be right in some circumstance .

Perhaps what you meant for the Hill was the higher part of the surface (and the dent or the volley or lower part means the hill) .

I think your sentence is applicable in case you go to the field and use the knife and clean up or dry up with cloath without applying oil then a mirror finish is perhaps easier to maintain as this kind of surface is not keeping moisture that will cause the stain.

However I always keep knife after use with oil on.

The balsted surface has the profile to hold the oil film better mirror finish.
Just try to observe when we want to glue material of to make paniting sprey more durable ........the dented surface will then serve the purpose beeter that mirror finish for sure.
When we apply the oil onto the knife surface, the oil film is one piece of film and it is flooded over the hill.

Just think about it, I cannot find wways to prove this as it is beyon my ability but my imagination is just like this.

Thanks again for your sharing.:)
