i take good care of my knife, i use it, wash it, dry it & put it away. it is never wet when im not cooking. is the slight orange coloring on the silver part near the tip of the knife rust or just patina? you can see that the patina near the edge of the knife is much stronger & an entirely different color.

No, it shows the "broken picture" icon, followed by what looks like the encoding.

K konrad konn your first image is now visible, the rest are not.

It is difficult to tell just from the first photo, but a little surface rust on the edge of a carbon steel blade is not fatal. Maybe it's more humid in your kitchen than you realize, or maybe a few specs of water were inadvertently left on the blade. Either way, I wouldn't be concerned of it was my knife.

Also, Merry Christmas!

ok thank you so much! it really doesn't feel humid here but is definitely possible i didn't dry it completely perfectly every time. but yeah im not gonna worry about it then!

hope you had a good christmas & that the rest of the holiday season goes well :]

Well, I still can't see any of the pictures, but I'm glad that you've gotten an answer. I have several carbon steel kitchen knives, and I treat them pretty much as you've described. None have rusted, all have interesting patinas.
