  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Rusted up my new bushfinger :(

I've had great success with Maas, Mothers Mag, Blue Magic, Flitz and Simichrome metal polishes. Just apply a small dab to a paper towel and rub until rust/patina are removed. Try to avoid touching the edge.

My favorite is Maas but it's kind of on the expensive side. Mother's Mag and Blue Magic can be picked up at any local auto parts store and they are relatively inexpensive. The nice thing about most of these polishes is that they will help prevent future rusting.

As Hone said metal polishes are perfect for the task, I use Autosol metal polish to bring mine back to new.

Yea, I ended up using some Flitz while I waited for my 0000 steel wool to arrive. Took care of most of it. I'll post a pic when I get home.

This would be why I patina them :)

That looks nice mistwalker. I wanted to build it up naturally but it might be better if I try to speed up the process :)

Just some polishing with Flitz and a shop rag. Worked pretty good and it says its non-toxic.
