Ed Fowler is a tough act to follow, but I'll add that they compliment each other...Bruce & Donna...Donna & the knives...the knives & Bruce...we'll you get the idea!

Man Bruce those are great as usual. What kind of bones are those? Big! I like the guard on that first one a lot.

Dave

Dave,These are just some small dyed cow bones I picked up when I went out and picked up bones to make the Bark Bone from and wanted to see if they would make a cool handle..They work great for this style knife I think.

It's official. I hate him.

Man, those are sweet. What are those weighing in around? They look ab-so-lutely Heeewwwwwjj !!!!

What'd they use to dye it? D'ya know? Tell! Tell!!!!

I got a couple pieces I've been wanting to use, but they just didn't look...quite...right. I love that look, though. It darkened up REAL nice.

So, spill yer guts, Bro--what/how/how heavy?

:D  :D

I really like the blade of the second one, the straight back one. I generally like bone handles, esp. with brass tacks, but I'm not a fan of living the joint area. Just a question of taste.

Thanks for the kind words everybody.

Kal,just take some liquid rit dye in Brown and mix it thin with acetone in a jar (You have to mix it good as it doesn't want to mix very well) Then make sure you have good dry old bones that are not greasy at all ( naturaly weathered works best) and with a brush start adding the dye one coat at a time more in some spots and less in others and then let it dry a little and then stabilize it or soak in a jar of thinned down Polyurethanne for a few days and then let dry real good and then sand it down a little and buff and you will get a nice dye job on the bone( the more you add the deeper it will penetrate)
I don't have a scale here to weigh these Bowies on but I do know that the big bowie isn't that heavey as it is a forge tappered 1/4 inc from the guard to point. These really are not any heaveyer than any normal forged blade there size.
Hope this helps.

I love the first one! The bone gives it a great sculptural quality; it almost looks Gothic. Heh, a Neo-gothic bowie... Should call Tai about that one :D

Beautiful workmanship. Beautiful profile! Fantastic frontal view!
Oh......the Knife is very nice to!
Your a very luck man!
Keep up the great work.

Almost looks like it's from the 80's.That knife handle style was popular back then. The good ole days.
