Rusting stripped TGLB problem( check out the pics that were added to this post)

I think what you're seeing is a patina forming, not 'rust' as such. Mine is the same...

I wouldn't worry about it. Let it form and beat the hell out of it. :)

Man, that looks so awesome. If it comes out in a patina like that i would say the rust is a GOOD thing...

Great looking knives everybody.

I think as Garth had said not quite through the de-carb yet.

I stripped mine and used scotch brite pads and then a brass wire wheel and a Dremel to get In all the little pits. Took a 1/4" angle grinder and a scotch brite pad to it, then covered the disk in a cotton cloth and used a green strop compound to buff it... hasn't showed any signs of rust. I don't coat it in oil. I even wash it off and not dry it.

I used a more abrasive scotch brite and then I took 1500 and 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper to it and it came out looking pretty good and we will see if I got all the Decarb layer off in a day or so. Thanks to everyone for the help and suggestions.

David Brown is the craftsman/artist who made these KILLER sheaths
Here's a pic of my Comp finish and the one I stripped both with Buy Brown custom Zombie Skin Kydex

Hmmmm weird ive been using choji oil on all my swordz for along time and never had any problems. And choji oil is just mineral oil and a lil bit of clove oil.

I have a high end carbon katana that if you touch will have a rusted finger print on it within 24hrs and the choji oil keeps it great.

I am sure Garth w is right, I had the same problem and after I really got in there with sandpaper it finally stopped getting rust. Weird stuff decarb!!
