Why the hell do good files have to be so damn hard to get ahold of? You'd think that the difference in cost couldn't be SO massive. I think it's just another case of needless penny-pinching on the part of many companies.

I have to agree. A company can spend a century building a good name. Then a Wall Street brokerage house can destroy that name in a few short months. Make record profits for 3 or 4 quarters and take your big bonus. Then scurry off to find some more raw meat while a formerly proud company crashes on the rocks. :(

Heeheehee...at least I have a good source for vintage files in good shape. Takes some digging, and a bit of a drive, but I always know where to go.
 
I'm just joking with you man. It is a shame what has happened to so many like Nicholson.

Just look at Collins. They've been nothing but an off-shore sub brand of Cooper Tools (Nicholson's parent) since the 70's IIRC.
