This is a very attractive and well made bowie by Rusty Polk, a second generation craftsman. It is 1/4" thick at the guard with a distal taper to the very sharp point. The clip grind is beautifully done and pretty sharp in it's execution with no further sharpening. This knife is one of five test knives that he presented for consideration when he was applying for his ABS Journeyman rating [which he achieved]. It is a maple burl-handled bowie with a broad 9 7/8-inch blade, overall length 14 1/2 inches. The blade was beautifully tempered and has a faint hamon line like the fine Japanese blades. The reverse of the blade is marked "TK" indicating it was one of his test knives. The pictures don't do this one justice. The sheath is no nonsense and serviceable. I would start this one out at $500 shipped and insured in CONUS, outside us would pay actual shipping costs.
NO trades at this time, cash is king. I am not sure of the actual value of this piece as I took it in trade. I am just guessing, so if you know more about Rusty's work I am all ears. I have an email out regarding the steel, as soon as I get a response, I will add that info. Thanks.
