Went to the local school's Christmas Concert tonight. Was pleasantly surprised by the talent of the kids but there was a lot of that not being able to read going on.
Did you know that "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" is one of the rare carols to make references to the New York?
I've forgotten the other three or four gaffes already but that's probably just as well since I messed up the lyric in one of the songs the community singers did. We sang Rutter's Christmas Lullaby and at the end of the first verse I sang "only a mother and maiden" instead of "only a mother and baby".
I was out shopping today when "Workin' at the Wicker Wonderland" came over the speakers. I didn't get mad; I just sang right along. Gone awaaaaay is the doofus ... I don't know what those people in the store were laughing about....
