"Ruthless" fighter by Michael Ruth Jr.

Very well done Mike and Roger I love it all but that butt cap O.....Mannnnn that's nice. John you are right Mike is a kick to hang out with never a dull moment.

Thanks much gents. Dave - yes, that "rolling cove" butt cap is becoming something of a signature element - I like it a bunch.

Here's a slightly tweaked version of one of the original pics. I am loving this ivory.

Oh man that is a really great looking knife.

Congrats Roger, and very well done Michael!

Another stellar effor by Michael who I think improves with every piece. I really like the Texas Wind pattern a lot. A fine addition to the "Ruthless" line of knives and to your collection as well.

Congratulations Roger I know how pleased you are to have this one.

Thanks for all the kind words guys! Susan and I had a blast hanging out with you fellas at BLADE, and are definitely looking forward to doing it again next year! Any forumites who don't make the trip are definitely missing out, it's a GREAT time!

I was really happy with the way this one turned out. The West Texas Wind is really turning out to be one of my favorite patterns for a blade...lots of interesting activity going on there. I think Paul's sheath was the icing on this cake though. I absolutely LOVE the leather! Thanks for posting it up Roger, I'm thrilled you like it!

Michael, that knife is awesome. All the materials that were chosen for this project worked well together to make a fantastic knife.
To make this short and sweet. It is a piece of art work.
Roger, thank you for posting this knife for all to see.

Really really nice. The damascus in the fittings particularly appeals to me but it's great all over.

Really nice Mike. Everything just works together so well and love the buttcap. Roger you have a winner with this one. Excellent piece, you all did good.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and this one is knockout to my eye.

The sleek profile of Mike's blade marries perfectly with his WTW damascus. Larry Fuegen deserves an assist on the elegant guard and Roger deserves credit for a gorgeous piece of caramel ivory. The lovely flow resulting from the combination of these elements is evident for all to see. This is what separates art from craft. I think we will be seeing a lot more of this knife in the "Bowie of the Year" thread.

Great get Roger!

Thanks again for all the comments, gents. Here's Mike at the 2011 Little Rock show, and a peek at the first two "Ruthless" fighters I mentioned at the outset:

The mammoth is truly outstanding and the pattern is great. Now the butt and guard are also extra special. It was a fun day when Roger visited as Phyllis and I also go to see a really nice piece by Mike Q -- great knife (integral bowie) and of course the result of the WIP thread related to our friend Stuart Branson.
