Rwl 34?

Grinds like ats-34 and polishes super nice. Only problem to me was $33 a foot price tag.

oh awesome but yeah i just realized it is little more than 50$ a foot on the site i was looking at :/ so ats-34 is fairly close to it? atleast in look?
 
I would call it closer to CPM154 stainless as both are powdered steel. Rwl is th Swedish version of which Damasteel is made with in part.
 
Yes RWL-34 is the equivalent of CPM154, both powder type
154CM is equivalent to ATS-34
 
I made my first knife out of RWL 34.
Files and sandpaper only.
It went well, took a very nice mirror polish (P 2500)
 
Like CPM 154 without the sandblasted finish. :-) It is a bit pricey, but you guys must be looking at pretty thick stock.

It's a great knife steel. It takes a great polish and a sharp edge.
It's the stainless that I prefer.
