This year's knife sale will generate proceeds to go to Bikes4Kids Utah. This organization provides free bicycles to disadvantaged youth.

It turned out pretty awesome, if I do say so myself :)

Wow I love everything about this one. Funds going to a great cause too. Nice work guys.

Thanks very much everyone.
Even you, Rolf :) lol

I just posted the following message on Edgeout's facebook page;

Hey folks, Lorien here;

I have the knife in my possession and am just finishing building a leather sheath for it. All that remains is a few final touches, and then waxing the leather.

It took longer than anticipated. My father passed earlier this month, and I've been dealing with that grief, and all the practical things one has to deal with in situations such as this.

However, I was inspired to dedicate this knife pattern and my sheathwork to my dad. He was a leatherworker for many years, and his craftiness really rubbed off on me. His name is Charles Arnold, but when he was a wee grom, his family called him 'Buster'.

The name of this knife, therefore, is 'Buster'. I dedicate it to my father, and to all good fathers, particularly Ryan Weeks, whose teen aged son has just left for a two year mission, and who will be greatly missed by his family during this time.

I'll post up some pictures of the finished sheath this weekend.

My dad was always very supportive of my obsession with cycling and cutlery, was quite keen on this project, and the charity we are trying to lift up by taking it on. Please consider purchasing some raffle tickets in order to benefit Bikes 4 Kids Utah, and to potentially benefit yourself by scoring this sweet knife.

Cheers!
Lorien

Sad times, Lorien, best wishes for you and your loved ones.

So sorry to hear about your dad. Great looking knife. The winner will be a lucky individual.

That's a good looking knife and a GREAT looking smile your dad gave back. :thumbup:

I feel for you and see how notable this particular design is. Props.

Thanks very much, guys.
I finished the sheath last night and I'll post up some pictures tomorrow. I wish I could say it was my best effort, and I guess I could say that, given the circumstances.

Most importantly, please go and buy some tickets for the raffle to win this knife, or make a donation to Bikes4Kids Utah. You can link to the raffle via the facebook link I made in the previous post.

Good looking knife,props for the purpose.

May your initial grief pass quickly, and may you remember the good times, and let that soak into your psyche.

I lost my father when I was almost 18, it happened while I was there, and he went quickly, thankfully.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Great looking knife and sheath Lorien. Very sorry to hear about your father's passing.

Thanks Clint. My dad was simultaneously my greatest hero, and my biggest fan.

Charles was contaminated by Agent Orange while he was in service, and that ultimately ended up being his killer. Sprayed and betrayed.
Like so many service people- called to action and thrown by the wayside. At least during the last 6-8 years, the VA has gradually become more responsible and compassionate. Too little, too late for Charlie, though.
I hate these stupid conflicts and the human carnage they leave behind. The military industrial complex can eat a bag of dicks.
