This swayback jack from Ryuichi Kawamura arrived yesterday. I asked Tony Bose for his 3 5/8s swayback pattern (thanks again) and then sent it on to Ryu for his first swayback knife.

Blades are ATS-34. I’m really glad I went with the stag scales. I asked him to do some threaded bolsters like on some of my older Henckels knives instead of his usual fluted bolster. The bolsters also are slightly pinched.

The blades are 4-5 on the tension scale, perfect in every position. It has the extended spring on the pen blade.

A bigger swedge on the main blade and on the pen blade would have been nice, but that’s my only quibble other than a lighter wallet for Blade.

That's really quite nice. I'm glad you went with the stag too. :p

Awesome knife and I know it acts as good as it looks.

Congratulations Mike.

On the knives he has/is making for me, I've specifically asked for larger swedges because he tends to go light on them.

Great knife, Mike! Congrats on the new addition.

Beautiful folder Mike. The stag is fantastic! Congratulations bud.

I'll take it.
Beautifully matched, beautiful stag! He planned those pieces perfectly!
Nice threading . . .ummmm, send it here, and I'll send you some bucks for Blade!! Hate to see you go empty walleted!

Heh, heh:D!

First thing that caught my eye. . . . .the bolsters. The rest of the knife caused a brain aneurysm. :D
