I saw what looks like a delica today, full serations, looks like the steel type was S-2. Is this somthing that has been sold recently? It's the first I've seen S-2.
I passed on that, but picked up a Police in ATS-55.
GIN 1 was called G-2 for awhile. Scratches can make the G look like an S sometimes. I have one that is like that just from the use of opening and closing the knife over the years. G2/Gin 1 was the premium steel used in Spyderco knives for the first several years. It was/is a good steel and some here still prefer it over some newer, premium steels.
As a note Spyderco never used cheap, poor performing steels. I still carry some of my oldest Spydercos in Gin 1 despite having newer models available to me. I can rotate my knives without worrying about any kind of performance loss. Joe
