?s about 110/112 conversions

Mike,,,
Its a crap shoot as to quality if you can't fondle it in person. You said it is used. Would just depend on how used. Loose blade? dents & dings? Altho the pic doesn't appear to show any of that, other than some scratches that will polish out.

Like Dave said tho,,,,, Buck will not work on a conversion if there is a problem with it.

Just depends on how cheap you can get it for versus getting a new one from someone.

you been hanging out in Trax biker bar? :D

Which is why Stu gets a lot of referrals. He is an upright guy.

BTW: Stu also sells on BladeBid and TKA...

pack rat,

never been to trax's joint.

i only go to real dark bars (you know the kind - the first few times you walk in from the outside and it's daylight, you have to stand there like an idiot until your eyes adjust to the dark - but after you've been there enough you can use the braille system to get around).

gotta be a lot of sawdust and peanut shells on the floor and a lot of loose women in tank tops.

what time is it? 10:44 a.m.. i'm late now. i better hit the bar now.

maybe i'll hit trax's place later. hope i don't get mugged by a biker.

oh yeah, where is it?

Ya know, I really should have a cup of coffee before I start reading the mail here from my Buckaroos. I thought you were yakking about something else (female) and got that funny feeling like climbing a pole in second grade...

... There are different buttons, too. Some are round; some are long ovals, like that one. If the button catch on the blade is a hole, it is single action (springs open only). If it is a cutout notch, it is double action (can also be pulled out manually)...

Lots of good information here but I don't know if I agree with the above statement. Here's a pix of (L to R) Buck 500 (no hole or cutout showing), 112 (hole), 112 (cutout notch), 110 (hole), 110 (hole), 110 (cutout notch). All are single action only.

I stand corrected! ;)

My DA knowledge is limited to the oval-button w/straight notch; the bottle-opener shaped notch is new to me.

Sorry,, I should have clarified low end.... I was around $135 for the two in the pic. ea...

Was that one of the Transistion 110/112 knives ? Now that would definitely be an interesting conversion. would love to play with one of those.

How about something like this Pack Rat

I know, I know, not yet gold! Anyway, when I get my digital camera back from repair, I will try and post pics of my 110/112 Michael Prater Auto with smooth buffalo scales. He made 5 of these knives...one for him, one for the ebay retailer, and three for the public. If you look at his stuff on ebay, you can see all the file work he does to the bolsters, spring lock etc. I know I sound like a proud daddy, talking about his newborn, but.... Does anyone know how many of the 110/112's were produced? I have a BY, a stocker that I stole on ebay for $55 last xmas, and now the auto. Thanks.

I have a couple of the Painted Pony Protos by Michael. Would love one of the conversions of the 110/112 by him.. May look into it.

No idea how many of the transistions were made.. Will see it there is any info on the BCCI site.. I am glad I managed to get a couple pretty cheap compared to now.

lol @ no-gold Panman
