Many of you know the “Q” model that was produced by Spyderco, then the “R” with similar cutouts in the blade and handle. Now, Spyderco is happy to introduce the “S”. This little big knife features an aluminum handle with a 2 7/16" (62mm) 440C blade. The laser-cut webbed blade and web-patterned handle shed ounces and make this a feather light comfortable carry knife at just 2oz (55g). It also features a Left/Right reversible, tip up clip and a double flat ground blade. The nested compression lock and jimping at the spine and choil make it one of the strongest and most practical EDC (Every Day Carry) knives. At an MSRP of $89.95, this will make a great addition to anyone’s knife carry routine. Available in Black or Silver handle both with PlainEdge only.

We're just announcing these to Dealers, so give yours a day or so. :)

Very very neat looking. But, it looks like the handle is configured for a tip up wire clip to me...

This knife looks interesting. What are the dimensions on it? I hope you meant "tip-up' carry because, as one person already pointed out, it appears to be configured for a wire tip-up clip. Anyway, I certainly hope this is the case.

Nice. I'll have to get one of those. I'm not understanding "nested compression lock". Is it like the Paramilitary compression lock or something different?

Similar, but if it's like the pictures we saw earlier, it'll be more similar to the Salsa and ATR, with the lockbar being integral to back scale. I could be mistaken though.

Blade is 440C and I believe 3.5" long, it's got dimension on the Spyderco home forum.

This is Spyderco. Every possible steel combination available from the nation of origin will be used in the run of the knife.

But for me, I like 440C. Way underrated in my opinion.

This thing looks GREAT! I hope it's small--2.5ish blade. I wish I had known this guy was coming, I just dropped a ton of money on my Kershaw Avalanche. I've been needing a new compression lock in my life. I wouldn't be surprised to see this thing go for 60 dollars at NGK. Depending on its size, this could be a good answer to the minigrip.

I love it!

We need more photos though. How bout one of it closed?

Also, for future interest, is it possible to mill out G10/CF slabs like this? Talk about featherweight and head turning...

Theres nothing wrong with 440c, its just that spyderco has set a standard with VG10/S30V. This looks like a great office knife.

I have the Q, R and R2, but this one looks a whole lot nicer! Just love that Salsa styling :)

They may weaken the blade, but they look soooooooo cool.

Really though, this is a small knife, I assume salsaesque dimensions (but could totally be wrong...), so, no prybar activity for this guy.

wow, nice!
is it slipjoint?

It looks to me by the way the blade is milled (by the bottom finger choil) that it is a compresion lock.
