I'm not a big metal expert. For a general use EDC blade, should I get S110V or S30V?
Preordered today, should come "end of year". I'm looking forward to it. Maybe a Christmas present....
Preordered from where?
I'd recommend the Sharpmaker diamond or CBN rods, as well as patience. Aside from that, the best thing you can do is sharpen often, so the blade never gets too dull. This advice is true of any high wear steel; I don't find S110V to be that much more difficult to sharpen than S30V.first question: how does one sharpen s110v? i've having problems with s30v.
I also have a DMT Deluxe Aligner diamond system
I have no trouble keeping my Manix2 LW S110V sharp using the Sharpmaker with the standard rods. But I don't let it get dull. I got the CBN rods recently to reprofile some VG10 edges but it shouldn't have any trouble sharpening S110V.
