S110v

That's all it really needs to be, it's a good balance and it will cut just about forever at that hardness range and still have good toughness.

I'll take your word for it, sounds like a winner to me. Come on Sal, make this one happen.

I'm hoping no exotic materials other than the blade, to keep the price relatively low...

^^ I dont know about this considering that it is going to be super limited and alot of people will pay top $ for a top product as it is a once in a blue moon kind of knife... Would like to see some cf, or ti... or maybe something even cooler :D

Textured G10 in Desert Tan /Ti frame lock Mili with the S110V would be nice. I love my M4 Mili. This would make a great addition. I pre ordered the Earth Brown Carpenter Steel Mili. This would fit in nicely! :)

I would love to see this steel introduced in a smaller platform. I think a S110V Native would be a winner. Maybe even something smaller. I am still anxiously awaiting the ZDP ladybug. What about using the Ladybug or Dragonfly platform?

The older I get, I find that as long as my knife if sharp, I don't really need that big of a blade. I doubt I'll ever carry anything bigger than my EDC, the Sage 2...and it will probably be relegated to backup use as soon as the Chaparral comes out.

I know the cost would be high, but I think an expensive keychain knife that seems to stay sharp forever would even appeal to non-knife people.

I may finally get my perfect cigar cutter when the ZDP Ladybug arrives....If it's screw construction all I'll have to do is fabricate some titanium scales. What about bringing out the Manbug in S110V? Break into the high end market?

Grizz.

Grizz.

It's an extreme rarity to see an American made steel on a Japanese manufactured knife (Ladybug/Dragonfly). I'm sure the cost of importing the steel to Japan would be huge, not to mention the machining, etc. Just the same way that getting H1, ZDP-189, and VG-10 in mass amounts here in the states must cost an arm and a leg (if not more). Seems like the Taiwanese maker really does excellent work with the materials they are provided. I do think that a steel like CPM-S110V really excels in a larger folder/fixed blade platform, a 2" or smaller blade would not really take advantage of the properties that it has to offer (just my view).

Its more like sharpening S90V. ZDP IMO is very different in sharpening.

I'll put in another vote for a S110V native, in a FRN handle though and with a FFG blade.

More work to sharpen than S90V in my experience. It is a special order steel, according to Crucible's website. I think there has been only one limited production folder made in S110v.
