Does anyone happen to have the large S2?
The one with the 3,63" blade?

I've heard from somewhere that it isn't as good in use as the "medium" version with the 2,87" blade.

I wonder if this is true or not.

Oh, and all other opinions about this "poor man Sebenza" are very wellcome.

Regards,
Tuhkis

I don't mean to sound dumb, but what is an S2 ?

Thanks

You're right.

Sorry, to me (as a some kind of CRKT fan) it was a commonplace it's CRKT we're talkin' about...

Get back to me in a week or two. Have the large on its way to me now, from shootist16. However, have no medium size with which to compare.

I can say that I recently bought both the large Apache and Apache 2. The handle is quite long -- which I like -- and meaning the 2 is quite satisfactory a size for my hand. (My present carries are an M16 and a Goddard Ltwt.)But, I think I still prefer the large.

I think the S-2 has somewhat similar lengths of handles. Have to check.

Be aware, I will.

As a daily carry to myself LM Wave is a commonplace.

Knife rotation is quite big: CRKT (large) KFF, M16-03Z, WH Evolution Wharncliff, LCC DA, Kershaw Double Duty and sometimes even a fixed blade: Benchmade Nimravus Cub - and when hiking Roselli Carpener's knife.

I want S2 because in it attracts it's good materials, easy disassembly (or at least so is said), reduced design and quite a light appearance.

And why not to own one framelock?

I have an S2 and a BM Pinnacle, for me the Pinnacle is the better made tool. The lock bar goes right across on the S2 from new , so no tolerance in the lock to account for wear in. I also prefer the blade shape of the Pinnacle. The S2 feels a larger knife overall. Both cost about the same money here in the UK.
A Sebenza is 3 times the cost and is in a different league in terms of overall quality, fit , finish etc, but whether 3 times the value would be up to you.
I have not tried or seen the smaller CRKT offering, so sorry I cannot comment.
Paul.

Thanks for info.

I know, many may disagree, but IMHO Sebenza is overpriced.

Though finally I got my hands on Sebenza I do not want to comment my experience in this thread because it would be some kind of off-topic.
As to CRKT S-2, I have and use medium sized one and I can say certainly - you will get all you could expect from the knife in theses dimensions, materials and for this price.

Well, here I am.
Sending email to you failed, so I wrote down here.

Obviously you are happy with your large S2.
What negative points?
In the handle the screws are screwed directly into titanium, if I've understood right.
I was thinking will disassembling the knife loose the screw threads - what's your opinion?
(I'm not going to take the knife down daily, but anyway...)
I'm still throwing heads and tails about S2/BM750...

Pekka,
If I'm not wrong 3.6 inch version is no longer in production. I've only seen medium and small available right now. Can't say about S2's but small titanium framelock mirage - same size as small S2 - was kind of disappointment. Large S2 were well liked and some might still be around.

At least Skylandscutlery has large S2 in stock. And I'm happy - very happy - dealing with Greg.
I heard about you disappointment - I think CRKT (too) has holes in it's QC. I've been lucky so far.
