thanks guys , I'll take more input if there is any . I have the crucible specs and have read the catra specs . I see crucible is calling for a -112 degree sub-cool in between tempers . Dry ice will not quite make that temp . -110 is the best I've gotten , will that make a difference ?
I posed the same question to Ed Severson (main engineer of S30V) and his opinion was that dry ice works fine if you give it 6 hrs. or more. It's a time & temperature thing. (He also recommended a press quench for best results.)
I would let your customer know that he will get the best results resharpening with a diamond stone. The high vanadium content makes for a very high abrasion resistance which doesn't work well with other sharpening systems.
