S30V vs 420HC

The problem with a Hartsook could be that it's as ugly as a carbuncle. I mean, if you took one of those things to the top of the Empire State building, planes would start to attack it. ;) :D
Leave the little guy alone

I really injoy the 420HC in my Buck 882, just happens to be what I'm carrying today! Good stuff!

I like Bucks 420HC steel just fine in my folders. Thats why I keep buying from them. It works great to me.

It is a lot easier to sharpen. I would probably agree that the cpm steel isn't necessary for a knife as small as the Hartsook. I've had a few of them since they came out. Probably a few years now and I carry it every day while on duty. The s30v once properly sharpened, stays that way a long time. It's just hard to get that way. Buck does a good job with both steels. It's all in the heat treat. P.Bos is king
