Here is a little handle experiment I did on an old S30V blank I had lying around the shop. I recently read a tutorial on doing flared tube fasteners so I gave it a spin. Turned out OK . Perfectly secure slabs but one side of the tubes did a little splitting. Purely cosmetic but I have knocked more than a bit off the usual price to account for the "loss" :) The steel is 3/16 thick and hollow ground. Heat treat was done by Paul Bos and it is RC60.Overall length is 12 7/8in with a 6 7/8 blade tip to handle. Slabs are black textured G10. Entire knife was given a blasted finish. No sheath is included in the price. I can make a kydex sheath for it but it'll add $40 to the price and take a few days. This is a nice lightweight full size fighter guaranteed to make you grin just a bit :D Price is $200 shipped in CONUS. Intl shipping at added cost and risk. I can accept a MO or Paypal

Excellent tactical knife!!! Looks like it would be very comfortable in the hand, very smart profile... I use tube fasteners often, the trick is to not flare them so much, a smaller flare will still give you terrific holding power but won't have a tendancy to split. I've even used stainless steel 1/4" aircraft brake line bought from 'Aircraft Spruce & Specialty', (It works perfectly!)...

I have some stainless tubing inbound so I am very hopeful for future models :)

I........want........that.........so.........bad. :D I'll have to make a call next week if its still available.

Bill, if you use brass again and want to countersink the holes at the same angle then you could aneal the tube first to prevent splitting plus deburr the inside edge just a little.
