I've heard others comment that S30V can be hard to sharpen......well that's just BS!!

I've had my Sebbie for about a year now, and I've sharpened it several times with the Sharpmaker with good results. Every once and a while, I do a "deep" shapening with the Lansky, which I just did for the first time with the Sebenza, and all I can say is WOW! Not only was it easy to shapen, it takes the best edge I've ever been able to get on a knife!

I agree! S30V...rocks for the sebbie!

I very much like the S30V on all my sebbies. I've had no problems with it and all my Sebenzas, mostly S30V, will pop hair with ease:thumbup:

For folding knives I tell everyone S30V is the cream of the crop, even over newer and more exotic steels because it is the best blend of everything.

I agree that CRK's S30V is very easy to sharpen, however, mine seems to lose it's scary sharp edge rather quickly..reverting to a "pretty sharp".

I use a Eze-Lap diamond rod for most of my blades .A few strokes on that and the baldes are back to normal. With high tech steels it's best to get diamond or ceramic sharpeners then you can sharpen any blade. For most of my cutting tools I get a micro serrated edge ,I have no use for a polished edge .[never had the need or desire to polish the edge to shave hair !]

No trouble to sharpen the S30V Sebbies I have. It is as easy as sharpening a swiss army knife. I will also say that the treat and grind on the Sebbies is easier for me to sharpen that the S30V blades on other knives in the collection (Spyderco and Bladetech).

I also use the sharpmaker and finish with a strop.Takes about 2 min.to get scary sharp!Maybe a little more if its really dull.My 1st seb i bought in mid 90's with old steel is also easy to sharpen but won't hold an edge as long.
