I can't believe I missed out on this one. My current VG10 Urban Trapper has found a semi-permanent home in my right back pocket. I'm pretty OK with the one I have, but having one in S35vn would have been one heckuva score.

Keep your eye on the exchange. A lot of people went back and bought a second or third, probably with the intention to flip them. Being that it's a Boker, I don't expect they could command too much of a secondary market mark up.

It'll be really interesting to see if they respond to these comments. The stonewashed clip is the standard one for all existing models of the UT, so they don't have existing other hardware to fall back on--meaning adding the same PVD treatment they're giving the blade would cut into the margin, at least, uh, marginally. My guess is that fact, plus the "default" issue you mention, means that we'll be getting what was in the photo. Seems noteworthy to me that the Massdrop guy has pointedly declined to respond to the many comments about this since you and others first raised the issue.

My guess is also a fair number of people like me who were sort of indifferent to the knife but wanted to support the project in hopes of getting another manufacturer we like better to ante up with a similar special edition in the future. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice looking knife, but there's a decent chance mine will be up for sale or trade unless I like it better than I'm expecting.
 
Nice knife. I now blame you all for leading me on a wild goose chase to find it, and then discovering a whole new world of ways to spend my money.

Just signed up for site membership at that place. EDC stuff, for sure... :D Like I needed another hole in my wallet.

This was very nearly my first Boker and first use of the drops. I've been less than impressed since signing up with most of their offers, but they seem to have a good deal on Bokers from time to time. I also have a swindle which fills that niche at least somewhat. Went with a Spyderco Dragonfly SS instead.
