S35VN Corrosion Revisited

I use S35VN in a dark, humid greenhouse every day and I've never seen spots like that. I've never seen any spots, come to think of it!

Unless I was hacking away at some very acidic/toxic plants, didn't rinse my knife afterwards , and then left it overnight I'd never expect that sort of thing to happen. The fact that the marks are perfect circles is a bit of a concern.

I just got a pre-paid RMA to send it back to me manufacturer. Said they’re prepping production.
So I’m not positive whether they’re going to analyze, factory-refinish, or replace it. But it sounds like the latter.

This happened to me once when I left a tomato seed on a North Arm chefs knife overnight.

I use S35VN in the kitchen and never had any oxidation. They do have a more polshed finish though.

Worked outdoors for 7 hours today. It was pretty cool--the heat index was only up to 107F--but I still managed to sweat completely through my shorts. The S35VN Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter in my pocket did not get a speck of rust.

I'm taking better care of the knife since it came back - wipe instead of air dry; strop, and put away immediately. I hope the rest of the family is committed to doing the same...
