I have never had a problem with S35 or S30. And I can make carbon rust by just looking at it. Overall I am impressed and it’s a preferred steel for that reason as well as several others (edge retention, ease of sharpening, etc)
My understanding is that it is basically the CPM version of Elmax in most respects. So, I assume it will hold similar edge resistance, toughness, and stainless properties. If that is the case, it should be VERY stain resistant. It might also be chippy depending on edge geometry/thinness for specific applications.

Just found this article from our very own @Larrin . Looks like S45VN has better corrosion resistance and toughness than Elmax.

Just saw that you meant S35VN but titled it S45... haha. Article still applies though. Lots of data on S35VN in there.
