Yes, although they are a little heavy. I wear them under my flight suit sometimes with a wide lanyard, and they work fine. Upside down carry is completly secure. You do not want one of these dropping loose in your flight suit, which is basically a big onesie;)

I'm thinking about this because of the smaller blade. What are the advantages/disadvantages to S90V over say S30V?

Well, if heat treated correctly, S90V is more wear resistant. I take that to mean it's harder to sharpen, but stays sharp longer. Truthfully, I don't see much difference between any of the CPM steels in wear resistance, ease of sharpening, or anything else. 3V does seem noticeably more resistant to chipping. And as far as sharpening goes, I find the biggest difference is how thin the steel is at the edge. My edges have gotten progressively thinner over the years (closer to 0). I don't have time to spend more than a few minutes resharpening a knife in the field, and would prefer not to have to at all. CPM steels offer that kind of performance. Using S90V on a small cutter like this is just icing on the cake for me.
