best thing to do with pawn shops would be contact the local PD give them the discription as well as the markings (ie. serial numbers), you might even be able to give them your neighbors name and they would be able to tell you if he pawned anything, Here in FL it would infringe on a "Customer Confidentiality" Law if i were to tell you what or even IF your own child pawned an item with out an Officer present.... if your item is found in a pawnshop dont be afraid to press charges on the thief and ruin his reputation with that shop
