You are correct in that the current law only has the 1.5" restriction on autos. The 3.5" part is from the proposed bill that has not yet passed, and technically only applies if the knife is possessed during the commission of a crime.

Sorry haha, I generally read over it, but it was 1 am when I posted!

I think laws like this make some sort of sense. Like carrying a shovel around is legal until you bash someone in the head with it, then its a dangerous weapons charge, they're starting to put knives into more of a tools category rather than a weapon.

If the law basically says I can carry any knife as long as im not committing a crime, which I dont plan on doing... I'll be one happy guy, that said ill probably still avoid autos and stick underthe 3.5" size just in case Since im moving back to MA in a few weeks from NH where I've enjoyed no knife restrictions for the last few years. Luckily my 0350 is 3.25"!
