Schrade did make a line of knives for Cole's Sabre line under the "Monarch" name, and I think American Knife Co. as well. They had special "jigged" delrin covers for them , which subsequently turned up on a number of other Schrade (and Imperial DE) knives. The line was started in the mid-sixties I believe, or there-abouts. It's a line not many are familiar with, most folks think of the cheapo Japanese/Pakistan knives when they think of Sabre. Knives were eventually made elsewhere with similar looks, so you have to pay attention to the model numbers. I've got a few here, I'll see if I can snap a few pics of them.
Eric
PS, the sawcut delrin handled Old Timer looking models are NOT Schrade, they're later Sabres made by Colonial
Here are a couple of shots of two of their models done by Schrade (there were at least twelve). These are the 201 (Schrade's 193) and the 212 (Schrade's 225 of course). These are the covers also known in the factory as the "Cole National covers":
Interesting Eric. I've looked a lot of knives online, and never noticed those. The American you have looks to be carbon steel. I have an Imperial Diamond Edge Set with that very same folding hunter (322 DE) and a two blade barehead trapper (382DE). Those very Sabre knives you show are are two with the different jigging style than the rest of the set. I have a second trapper like this with no stamp at all. The Imperial set is from around 1972-73. The Imperials came with some most attractive satin polished stainless steel and graceful lines of any knives from that time. This particular Imperial line was on par with the Uncle Henry as far as quality, in my opinion.
There is a fixed blade knive that would complete the set, similar to a the Kit Carson Trail Knife from the same era.
