i hate to be the one to say it, and maybe it's been said, but i looks like an FSH with an SF handle. i haven't decided if i'll grab one yet or not, but my HHFSH and HOGFSH are still looking pretty good to me.

please don't hate me, and if i've p***ed anyone off too badly then feel free to come right to me front door and tell me about it. i live in muskegon, wisconsin if you want to look for me.... :D

I don't know, but for $327 you could always have someone grind off what you don't like ;)

I thought the same thing. "Hmmm. Do I need another FSH?"

Right now I'm saying "Probably." But I'm gonna sleep on it over the weekend.

I still need to clear out some steel. Just b/cuz. But all'y'all are sellin too much!

Planning on picking one up to replace the FSH I had to let go of years back

Have you seen what Ban did to your old beater? :D

I'm kind of on the fence with this one.

On one hand, I really wanted a 7" classic SFNO.

And on the other hand, 8" is not that much larger, and the classic SFNO did seem to have a bit too much handle for that blade. I think that's actually rather common with Busses - a lot of handle and unsharpened ricasso & choil, somewhat less blade. The GW is a very nice exception to this, and the larger Busses are in my opinion better in this regard. I do like it. But I would have also liked the 7"... :D

I'm with ya Elen. There was something appealing about the original SFNO blade-handle ratio that makes the NMSFNO seem out of place.
I keep wandering mack between the XC and BusseCombat...

I wouldacouldashoulda got the FSH and wouldacouldashoulda kept my CG SFNO and just paid to get the scales replaced with mags. I'm hanging over the fence, but current expenses lead me to not drop just yet lest the ultimate fusion of my Fusion Line wouldacouldashouldas end up on the exchange.

I already posted my initial disappointment. I won't be getting one, but this does free me up to purchase from guys making more useful sized blades.
Edited to add that I am happy for those many who want this blade. The SF handle is one of the coolest looking designs out there in my estimation. I just don't care for longer blades. Since I've started getting INFI I have had to learn to wait. Now I just have to wait a bit longer, because I know Jerry will make a user I like again.

And that's one of the best features of big Busse knives - enough handle! The one thing holding me back from trying a couple of other makers (Ruana and Bark River) is the dinky little short handles they use. It's also what makes the Active Duty such a great small knife, and so much superior to the Game Warden. It has an adequate handle for such a small knife.

It will be next to identical to the FSH which, IMO, was about to be the next SFNO on the Secondary Market. 130% mark-ups ain't cool. The Boss man just saved a bunch of us loyal Hogs from trecherous after-market activities and fulfilled our 8" of INFI/SF handle fix in one move. Once again, a genius manouver on Boss Hog's part and only down-played by the vocal minority. I think it's fine if everyone complains and moans about it but I support Jerry's decision.

Now, I'm the kind of guy who realizes tastes differ, but I'm also stupidly curious. :o I'm not referring to Ruana or Bark River here, but most of my favourite knives have smaller handles than Busses and all have enough handle. I mean, what do you guys do with all that handle, like on the Active Duty? Or do you just have really large hands? That could explain it, because my hands aren't exactly large. Everyone says I have small girly hands. :D

Ya, the commute into work pretty much sealed the deal. TOO much time to think. I'm grabbing a different blade.
I want a good all arounder, something a bit longer than the ASH I had, something shorter then the FSH I had.
Narrows it down a bit I think.
