I received an e-mail from Dave just a little while ago and he said I could tell anyone I felt should know, and I feel that his "Buck Buddies" should know. I guess it's best to just let his own words tell it. This is just part of his E-mail but it pretty much sums it up.

"my friend today i got word that karens doctor was contaced by her daughter last nite
and i was told by her tonite (the doctor is not in his office today wed) that he said
*that she can not travle to florida to stay for very long at all no travel is his preferance
*that she is not going to get any better then she is
*that he is not going to contune to give her chemo
*that she is too sick to be part of any clincial trial for any cancer resurch
*that we need to contact hospice
*that in his best judgment that if she see any spring flowers she will be lucky"

I truly don't know what to say to him, it's heartbreaking.

That truly is heartbreaking. I pray that the doctor is wrong and that the family will pull together in these hard times.

I never know what to say.... I hope she is comfortable and at peace.

Dave, my heart goes out to you.

Try and hang in there Dave. These are times that try our heart and soul. My thoughts feelings will be with you and your wife.

Dave,
Our heart and prayers go out to you and Karen. We were happy to have finally met her at the last Blade Show. God will care for you both and ease your suffering.

it's understandably upsetting news.
every single day, we can only hope for better things to come, especially so where life is concerned.
sometimes miracles happen, so let everyone hope for the best.
and keep on hoping every single moment, whilst we still have the strength to continue surviving all forms of "test" sent our way.
but more importantly that we make the best of things a day at a time.

Dave its comforting to know she will be in a better place when she leaves here.My sister had brain cancer at a young age(8)and she is 40 now,but all the chemo /drugs/treatments from her childhood are showing their ill effects.

I just lost a good hunting/fishing buddy to cancer last week ,he was 39 .I wish you and Karen the best, will be saying some words to the big man above for her.

God Bless

If God will not heal her body, may he bring peace to her, and to all of you,
in the next world where we will be together again.

Dave,
This fallen world offers all too many terrible blows of which this is certainly one. Keep hold of, the I'm sure many, great memories and blessings and watch for and keep your heart open for the loving arms and comfort The Lord will provide. Know my prayers are with you, Karen and your family.
Jesus loves you!

Dave, sorry to hear the news. Over the years, we have gotten to "know" each other through our short words on this place for Buck folks. I, as others have said, wish the best for you and your family.

Prayers for your strength, for natures kindness, for human assitance, and you and yours to be free of pain and mental anguish.

Dave and Karen,I'm so glad I got to know you both. May God be w/ you as you walk this path in life. Be thankful for all the good times and surely there is a special place reserved for you where joy and peace abides.DM

You both will be in our prayers, but please do not give up. Doctors are not always right.

When My sister was born, the doctors gave her until later that night to live. She is now 24 years old. As she lived past what the Doctors expected, they said she would never be able to walk, talk, or eat solid foods. Today I can call her on the phone and have a conversation with her, and she can walk up to the buffet and get what she wants to eat.
