Sad news.

I just learned from the folks I am in a group with on Facebook that our member BePrepared has passed. I don't have all the specifics, but it sounds as if it was a roadside accident. I will post more as I know. There are others here as well that knew him. Some much better than I. I hope that they might add anything they know. Godspeed Brother.

Here is some additional info. Sad news.

Austin, TX — There was a deadly accident on I-35 near the Colorado River this past Saturday morning (September 13, 2014) that left a man in his 30′s dead. Sources have tentatively identified the man as Chris Porter, who was killed at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning when his SUV crashed into an 18-wheeler.

The accident happened on southbound I-35, near Riverside Drive. Porter was headed south in an SUV when, for unknown reasons, he crashed into the rear of an 18-wheeler truck.

The collision critically injured Porter and he died immediately. Police say that they’re still investigating and haven’t determined what might have caused this wreck.

There was mention that alcohol might have been a factor, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. Police merely told the news stations that the accident happened early that morning and that an investigation was underway.

Sad. My condolences to his family.
