I recently (last night) lost a faithful companion of mine to the seat of a cab in the windy city:(. She was a heavily used and loved Spyderco Delica 4 that was one of my first knives...

You will be remembered Delica 4 PE!!!

I am going to pour a little booze out for you(since it is noon i will replace booze with vitamin water).

I figured it would be interesting to tell our stories and hope that our lost knives went on to people who will use and not abuse them:o.

Maybe we can even reunite some knives with thier former owners...we can atleast dream.

PS...if you found a heavily "Loved" Delica 4 in the back seat of a cab in Chicago I would love to have her back...finders fee???

PPS...if you found my knife and rnt going to return her please tighten the pivot and give her some oil...

sorry if this was a repost of a previous thread

I lost my first knife and which was my first lockback knife. Seemed to be either very fine copy of Buck 55 (like those fine 80's Böker Magnum's with similar look) or real deal Buck. I can't be sure but that knife cut like little demon, was pretty and I love it. I was like 5 or so. I got it end of 80's... Around '89. I lost it few years later and I still keep go search it now and then around those places I lost it... *sighs* I really need Buck 55 to get over that lost...

I feel ya man...honestly this is the second knife that i have lost to the seats of cabs...the first one was the smaller size persian from spyderco...i was very sad...:(

on the up side though it does give us another excuse to purchase a new knife to fill the hole in our pockets...

5 years ago I moved in with one of my friends, two weeks after moving in we were robbed. They didn't get much but they did take my Springfield 1911 and turned the house upside down. Unfortunately one week later they came back and took much more, at the time I had a collection of around 70 knives and they got all but one. Most of them can never be replaced but the one I miss the most is a Camillus made Ka-bar style military issue fighting knife. It was given to me by a WWII vet and made a perfect pair with my OD green 1911, I think about that knife everyday along with a few others that had a very high personal value but the best I can do is hope that they found their way into good hands.

Unfortunately no knife fully replaces ones we lost. Not even identical ones... First loves are always first loves...

I've lost my first boyscout sak, but that's the only knife I can think about caring that I lost. It's the only knife I've lost.

I lost my beloved AFCK about five years ago. I found it and then proceeded to lose it again; this time for good. I still miss that knife. When I went to replace it I found that Benchmade had discontinued it ( Travesty!). I really watch my knives like a hawk now.

i have done the lose it find it lose it deal a few times...i think i found the culprit though...a big leather chair in the tv room has a knack for pulling things out of my pockets I found my tenacious in it after it had been MIA for over 6 months...

My Buck #120, The General, was either lost or stolen when in College(1980s). My Dad bought it for me in my teen years. "You'll never need a knife that big for hunting" he said. "Yea, but it's a Buck and it's big!" was my reply. I have since replaced it but still miss the original one.

On my 4th birthday my Dad gave me a pocket knife with a Mountie pic on it.
Of course I was excited about my very first pocket knife, and went out side to show the neighbor kids.

Wouldn't you know it two big kids came along, and wanted to see it, so I hand it over for a look see..and that was the last time I ever saw my knife, I was devastated :(
Man oh man, that was some 50years ago, you'd think I would have forgotten this.

I lost a knife that my grandfather gave me after my great great aunt passed away. It was her husbands and he had found it in her house. I had it with me at the funeral and that was the last place I remember having it :( I wish I could find it.

I lost my first good knife in the Rio Grande... a Boker Canoe.

Several years later I lost a Sebenza in the Arkansas River.

This year I lost a Delica4 in the Arkansas as well.

The river cannot always give... If all it takes is a possession its been a good day!

I lost an Endura with the molded pocket clip and Leatherman PST. :( They don't make either anymore.

This is depressing.
Now you guys have me thinking of all the nice knives I've lost,or traded.
Man do I ever miss my 940,every time I see a picture of one,my heart just a little bit.:(

I lost my first knife (when I was 7), a red Vic SAK Classic, and 17 years later, I still havent bought a replacement. Had many chances but I felt that it would never be the same..

I had my SAK with me on a boat and it slipped and went into the water. I thought my dad would get angry so I secretly went and bought a new one with my pocket money. And that was a shitload of money back then.

Of course my dad wouldn't have been angry. He would have given me a lecture and then got me a new SAK. I just didn't want to look like an idiot who drops his knife in a lake...

I lost a perfectly good puukko when I tried to be a big time indian warrior and tried to kill a hare by throwing my knife at it. missed by a mile, and I could never find the knife in the grass.

When I was 15 I was searched by the police for hanging out with the wrong crowd, and they took my lockback, a Buck 110 knockoff that I loved. My dad just got me a new lockback that I still have. I didn't get a lecture because he thought it was OK to carry a knife, and it wasn't me who did something stupid. That was nearly 30 years ago, wow!

Then I had a Gerber EzOut that was stolen from my car.

That's about it.

It happened to her last night brother? We will remember September 25 of the year 2009 as the night for lost knives. We will light a candle for her on this day, and let it burn throughout the night in remembrance. Did she have a name brother? For she will be our Saint of Lost Knives. And on this day we will do our maintenance to all our knives, we will even seek those who do not have the skills to maintain their own, and help our brothers in sharpening and give love to all knives in need.

Be strong brother, we can only hope it is in the best hands now.
